I'll be honest, I was a little scared going into this because I adored All the Missing Girls and I was afraid that I only really liked it because of the backwards plot, but it doesn't seem like a one hit wonder to me. Miranda's writing is very captivating and I couldn't put this down after about halfway.

I know this probably isn't the Sanderson book I should have started first since it's YA and not his usual fantasy, but from what I've read about his books, this is pretty much what I expected. Great world building, a lot of suspense and action, and okay characters.

Well, this one went downhill pretty fast.

 

I feel bad because the atmosphere of about 60% of the book was very spooky and I was feeling it... but I had a lot of problems with the plot and characters.
